How to study Class 12 English with Vidya
Class 12 English decides a big part of your board percentage. The paper has 100 objective questions (you attempt 50) — mostly grammar and vocabulary, plus literature — and written questions from prose, poetry and writing tasks. Students who practise grammar MCQs regularly and know the main idea of every Rainbow Part 2 lesson usually score very well.
1.Grammar first
A large share of the objective section is grammar and vocabulary. Spend 30 minutes daily on our grammar topics and MCQs.
2.Know every lesson's central idea
For each prose lesson and poem, be able to say in 3–4 lines what it is about and what message the writer gives.
3.Practise long answers
Write long answers with a short opening line, two or three clear points, and a one-line ending. Neat structure earns marks.
4.Master writing tasks
Practise essays, letters and précis. Learn the format of a formal letter — it is often worth easy marks.
5.Mock tests in the last two months
Attempt our board-pattern practice papers in exam time to build speed and find weak areas.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Spending all time on literature and neglecting grammar MCQs.
- Writing letters without proper format (address, date, subject).
- Not reading the question choices — many sections say 'attempt any'.
